The most ancient part of the villa
was built in 1578. It was built by the same owner of villa Falconieri;
then it belonged to several important noble families, such as
the Sforza, the Aldobrandini and the Sacchetti.
The Jesuit priests transformed the villa completely, charging
Luigi Vanvitelli to create a convent from its original structure.
During this works, ruins of a Roman villa were found, probably
that of M. T. Cicerone, who called his house ‘il Tuscolano',
name that has been used for the modern villa.
It was bought by Luciano Bonaparte and then by the Aldobrandini
Lancelloti, it is now an hotel and a restaurant. The last restoration
works of the construction were made by the Salesian priests,
its last owners.
