This villa, originally a cardinal palace,
was built by the Oratorians Priests supported by its benefactor
San Filippo Neri.
Later on it belonged to the Visconti Family and to the duke
Mattei. Between the 1617 and the 1620 was restored and towards
the middle of the 18th century it was enriched with statues
and symbols representing a star made by Pietro Piccolomini.
Towards the second half of the 19th century the prince Lancellotti
ordered the raising of the façade creating a panoramic
roof terrace decorated with statues.
The interior is featured by a rich pictorial decoration with
frescos of the 17th, 18th and 19th centuries.
