| The church finds in front
of the Chigi's palace, like a point of junction of the square
with the two fountains and the town's centre. The present
aspect of the church has been completely modified by the building
of the viaduct, that splitting the square in two parts has destroyed
the perspectives designed by Bernini. The church's architectural
structure, a circular plan, reminds in some way of the Church
of the Pantheon in Rome. It was ended in 1664 and it is was
completely stuccoed by A. Raggi. The fresco in the apsidal bowl-shaped
vault, representing the Assumption, was painted by G. Borgognone.
The side altars are decorated by several paintings, among which
those painted by the Gimignani brothers, by R. Vanni, and by
                  B. Mei.
